Keep your wealth in a file you control
My Wealth saves your accounts, investments, debts, income and goals in a local file. You can manage that wealth with no mandatory account, bank connection or imposed cloud storage.
You choose where to keep the document, how to back it up and whether to encrypt it. Connected services remain optional: they do not replace your wealth file.

1. What remains available offline
Once the application is installed and your file is available, you can view and edit saved data, organise assets and liabilities, and use analyses, the budget and goals.
| Use | What you need |
|---|---|
| View and edit saved wealth data | Application and file available on the device |
| Enter a value or rate manually | Information you enter yourself |
| Search for an asset or refresh a price using Live | Internet connection and a licence for these optional services |
| Use the local AI assistant on Windows | A compatible model downloaded and installed beforehand |
| Retrieve a copy from a remote file provider | Access to that provider and availability of its copy |
A local file does not guarantee all data is always current: values and rates remain those from your last save or update.
2. A portable document across your devices
The same .mywealth format can be opened on desktop and smartphone. You can keep your document on one device, transfer it or use a file location available to the relevant devices.
For example, you can prepare your wealth on desktop, finish saving it, then open an up-to-date copy on smartphone to view it. If you choose a synchronisation provider, wait for its transfer to finish before switching devices and avoid editing the same file simultaneously.
The provider is your choice and comes with its own storage and privacy terms. The backup and synchronisation guide explains useful precautions.
3. Encryption and backups: complementary protections
Optional encryption protects file contents with a password. My Wealth does not keep this password for you: Indrik Software cannot recover the contents if you lose it.
On desktop, up to five version backups are kept beside the document. They can help after a change, but do not replace a copy on another storage device if your computer is lost or fails.
The benefit of a local file is that you organise these protections. It also means keeping your copies and password appropriately.
4. Understand the options that communicate with a service
Searching for an asset or retrieving a price with My Wealth Live requires data exchanges, for example using a security identifier or currency pair. This feature does not send your entire file to look up a value and does not require your bank credentials.
On Windows, the built-in AI assistant and smart import analysis process data locally with a compatible model. The desktop MCP server provides another access route: an external client may then send the information it receives to its own remote service. A local server alone therefore does not guarantee that the client processes data locally.
To choose this integration, see Local AI and MCP: uses and privacy. The privacy policy describes the data exchanges used by different features.
