My Wealth is available on Linux

Tux, the Linux penguin, carefully guards a gold bar in front of a wealth-tracking screen.
My Wealth is now available on Linux.

You can now use My Wealth on your Linux computer. Two formats are offered for this initial release: an AppImage and a .deb package.

Access your assets, liabilities, analyses, budget and investment goals in an application that keeps your wealth in a local file under your control.

1. Your wealth follows you between devices

Already using My Wealth on another device? The .mywealth format remains the same: open your existing file to access your wealth without recreating it.

On desktop, choose the file location and save manually or automatically. My Wealth keeps up to five .bak backups beside the document. You can also protect your wealth with password-based encryption.

The Update Centre lets you schedule tracking, find due dates and enter new values. The optional MCP server also lets you connect an external application to the open wealth file, subject to the permissions you grant.

To switch between desktop and smartphone, use a file location available on your devices. Finish saving and wait for synchronisation to complete before opening your wealth elsewhere. Avoid editing the same file simultaneously on several devices.

2. Two installation formats

  • AppImage: keep the file in a folder of your choice, allow it to run and launch it directly.
  • .deb package: use your distribution's package manager to install the application and find it in the application menu.

This edition is intended for Linux x86_64 computers with a graphical desktop. The installation and update guide explains the steps for each format.
