Install and update My Wealth

This page takes you from downloading My Wealth to launching it for the first time, then explains how to keep the application up to date on your device.

Find the latest versions and their release notes on the My Wealth download page. Choose the version for your system: Windows, Linux or Android.

To find out what each update brings, read the My Wealth release notes.

1. Windows

My Wealth is available for 64-bit Windows 10 and later.

Install the application on Windows

  1. Open the download page, then select Download for Windows.
  2. Once the download has finished, open the .exe installer from your downloads folder.
  3. Choose the setup language and follow the instructions.
  4. When installation is complete, launch My Wealth. You can then find it in the Start menu, in the Indrik Software folder.

Windows may display a warning if it does not recognise the file's publisher. Check that you used the official website link and that the file comes from forge.indrik.software. If you are unsure about the file or the message, contact us before proceeding.

Update the application on Windows

  1. Save the wealth file you are working on.
  2. In the Help tab, choose Check for updates.
  3. If a newer version is offered, read its release notes and start the update.
  4. Let the download and installation finish, then resume your work after My Wealth restarts.

You can also download the new installer from the website and follow the installation steps again.

2. Linux

My Wealth is available for Linux x86_64 in two formats: AppImage and a .deb package. A graphical desktop session is required.

Choose a format

  • AppImage: a file you keep in a folder of your choice, make executable and launch directly.
  • .deb package: installation managed by your distribution's package manager, if it supports this format.

The Third-party component sources archive is a separate download. It is not required to install or use My Wealth.

Install and launch the AppImage

  1. On the download page, select Download AppImage.
  2. Put the .AppImage file in a folder where you want to keep the application, such as an Applications folder in your home directory.
  3. In your file manager, open the file properties and allow it to run as a program. The name of this option depends on your desktop environment.
  4. Open the AppImage to launch My Wealth.

The AppImage file is the application itself: keep it for future launches. On a Wayland desktop, this edition uses XWayland.

Install the .deb package

  1. On the download page, select Download .deb package.
  2. Open the downloaded file with your distribution's package manager.
  3. Start installation and follow the package manager's instructions, including any dependency or authentication requests.
  4. Once installation is complete, open My Wealth from the application menu.

Update the application on Linux

Save your wealth file, then use Help > Check for updates.

With an AppImage, My Wealth can install the update directly if the file and its folder are writable. If a manual update is offered, download the new AppImage, close My Wealth and replace the old file. Check its execution permission before launching the application again.

With a .deb package, download the new package offered and install it using your package manager. My Wealth does not configure an APT repository, so new application versions are not supplied automatically through a My Wealth repository.

You can always find both formats on the website's download page.

3. Android

Install the application on Android

  1. Open the My Wealth listing on Google Play.
  2. Select Install, then open My Wealth once installation is complete.

Update the application on Android

Updates to the Android version are delivered through Google Play. Open its listing to check whether an update is available, or use the automatic updates configured in Google Play.

4. After installation

On first launch, choose New portfolio to begin, or Open a file to resume an existing .mywealth document.

The application installation and your wealth file are separate things. Updating My Wealth does not require you to recreate your wealth data. Before updating the application, finish saving your changes and keep a recent copy of your file.

5. Need help?

If installation or updating fails, provide your system, My Wealth version and the exact message text. On Linux, also specify your distribution and the format you chose: AppImage or .deb.
