Frequently asked questions about My Wealth
Where is my data stored?
The .mywealth file is the reference document. It contains, among other things, assets, liabilities, goals, the budget, rates, wealth-specific permissions, and history. My Wealth does not itself provide centralised cloud synchronisation.
Can I use the same wealth file on Windows and Android?
Yes. Both platforms read the same .mywealth format. Finish saving and synchronising on the first device before opening the file on the second, and avoid simultaneous changes.
Why is my total marked as partial?
A required currency conversion is probably missing. Open Properties > Exchange rates and check pairs recorded as 0 or reported by the view.
Why does my wealth appear to be counted twice?
A support has no value of its own and therefore adds no amount to the total. Instead, look for an asset created twice, the same account classified under two families, or an incorrectly entered quantity or price.
Do I need to create a support for a current account or property?
No, you can choose None when creating an asset or liability. However, create a support if you want to define its owners and their shares explicitly, group several investments under the same account or contract, or track support movements. Without explicit ownership carried by a support, the main owner is used as a reference in the relevant allocations.
Is My Wealth Live mandatory?
No. Live makes it easier to search for and update values and rates when the catalogue recognises the item. You can always create and value an asset manually.
Does the local AI assistant send my conversations to a remote provider?
The local AI assistant runs the model and inference server on the Windows computer. This feature does not send conversation data to a remote AI provider.
Is MCP also local?
The My Wealth MCP server is local, but a client application using an online model may transmit what it reads to its own service. Check the client application's policy and grant only the required permissions.
What should I do if a file no longer opens?
First work on a copy. Check the .mywealth extension, try a local copy, and on Windows look for .bak backups next to the document.
Can I recover a forgotten encryption password?
No. My Wealth does not store the password and cannot recover it. Always verify the password by closing and reopening the file after encryption.
