Windows, Linux and Android: what are the differences?

My Wealth uses the same .mywealth file on desktop and smartphone. You can view and edit your wealth, schedule its updates and protect the file with encryption on your devices. The main differences concern navigation, saving and certain additional features.

The web demo lets you explore the application with a sample portfolio. Changes made in the demo are temporary and disappear on reload. The web demo loads no audience measurement script.

2. Choosing the right version

  • On desktop, use the ribbon, work directly in your files, access their backups and connect external applications through the optional MCP server.
  • On Windows, the local AI assistant and smart import analysis also let you ask questions about your wealth or prepare updates from a source, using a compatible local model.
  • On smartphone, view and edit your wealth on the go, schedule tracking and enter new values, including offline after opening the file once.
  • Switch devices if your file provider is available on each one.

3. What happens to the file on desktop

My Wealth edits the open file directly. Save updates that file; Save as chooses another destination. If backups are enabled, up to five .bak files are kept beside the document.

Before closing a modified document with manual saving, choose Save, Discard, or Cancel in the dialogue.

4. What happens to the file on smartphone

The document picker gives My Wealth access to the selected file. The application then keeps a private working copy: you can continue working offline, and changes are published automatically to the external document when it becomes available again.

Share a copy sends a copy without changing the current location. The privacy setting also lets you hide My Wealth's content in the recent-apps screen.

5. Switching devices without conflicts

  1. Put the file in a location available on each of your devices, for example through a compatible storage provider.
  2. Finish saving on the first device.
  3. Wait for the provider to finish synchronising.
  4. Then open the file on the second device.

Do not edit the same wealth file simultaneously on several devices: your provider could create two competing versions. If that happens, keep both files and compare them before deleting either one.
